I started off 2021 by making a strong effort to revamp in-game weapons as weapons are an important aspect of the shooter experience.

4: Return and Restart

7: Playtest and economy

This July the game was finally ready for a first playtest with friends. This enabled me to get a better understanding of a few of the game's weaknesses.
After that, the game was enhanced with an item shop, custom weapons and enhanced enemy models.

2: Weapon Effects

This second devlog covers the continued evolution and improvement of the weapons experience. Focus this time is placed on visual effects such as muzzle flashes.
5: It's a game!

The game's now been improved to a point where it can actually be called a game. That means a new third person controller, enemies, a boss fight and the ability to complete levels.
And of course: with the new, faster-paced direction, I've decided to rename the game Bad Girl Turbo.
1: Introducing North To Sough

An introduction to the base concept and early work on North To South. It includes the use of Asset Store assets, art style and how Euro Truck Simulator 2 works as an inspiration.
3: Enemy Animation Overhaul

With work done on the protagonist, I decided to give enemies some love. Revamped animation system, fixed aiming, increased weapon variety and additional effects make enemies seem more alive and menacing.
6: Havin' fun

The last video showed the reborn version of Bad Girl become a game. The first level is now fully playable, with new enemy behavior, hostages, items to pick up, elevator logic and enemy reinforcements.
And of course, there's now a main menu and visuals have been enhanced.
