Hello Alcatraz is a simple mod I made for Hello Neighbor over a brief period of 20 hours.
Hello Alcatraz takes the mechanics of Hello Neighbor and changese them up to create a thematically different experience.
In this map, players are a prisoner in the infamous Alcatraz prison. Players need to sneak around the prison, getting various items and solving basic environmental puzzles to eventually sneak onboard a boat to escape.
It was a fun challenge to create a level for a game with such a different game style and specific premise. Of course, with the level taking place on Alcatraz, I tried to take a certain level of inspiration from the real locale, while still making the level compact enough to be fun.
Spawn point:Players start the level inside their cell. Players can see a key and a switch straight in front of them that they can't reach. A breakable wall hides a path to
Surveilance room:A small room with windows and binoculars.
Window: Through the surveilance room window, players can see the final gate and ship..
Cell block: The second button is found
Wardens room: In this room, the warden (neighbor) sleeps. There's also a flashlight that players will need later on.
Workshop: A workshop full of tools and glue. Players can find the crowbar here, which is necessary for the end of the game.
Utility room: Once players have the crowbar, they can access the utility room, where a lockpick is stored.
Labyrinth: Using the crowbar, players can enter a pitch black labyrinth. Using a flashlight, players can navigate it to locate...
False door: This door requires both a crowbar and the second key. Behind it is nothing but a manequin.
Boarded door: The correct boarded door looks the same as the other, but behind it players find an electric switch. This swich cuts the power to the exit.
